Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk consults Kanye West on designs for his new town under development in Texas. Musk has acquired around 3,500 acres of land in Bastrop County, near Austin. According to a report by The Wall Street Journal, he hopes to construct a “Texas utopia” that will house his employees.
The area Musk is targeting is near both SpaceX and The Boring Company facilities. It appears that Musk has been holding meetings with Canadian singer Grimes (his ex-girlfriend) and West, who has been vocal about his desire to build a fireproof community and an Eco Village. The WSJ report suggests that the three met several times in 2022 to discuss ideas for the town, though none of those plans have yet come to fruition.
Allegedly, West had meetings with his architectural designer in 2022. However, it is uncertain whether these meetings occurred before or after Elon Musk had Kanye West suspended from Twitter for posting a swastika – in response to which West took to Instagram and referred to Musk as a “half-Chinese genetic hybrid.” West also joked that Musk “resembled” someone who is half-Chinese as a child and even went as far as to say that his parents may have been a “Chinese genius” and a “South African supermodel.”
Local residents and officials were able to confirm that Musk has sought approval from local governments and asked people to sign non-disclosure agreements. The town is to be incorporated by The Boring Company and is named Snailbrook. The name is in reference to the Boring Company’s mascot.
The area already includes some modular homes, a pool, an outdoor sports area and gym, and various signs welcoming people to the town. It is claimed that Elon Musk is keen to proceed with his plans as soon as possible.
The project is being kept tightly under wraps, with very little information currently available about the development. Nonetheless, the plans have generated significant buzz and interest, with many people eagerly anticipating further details as they emerge.
