Scream VI reviews are in and you won’t believe what tweeters are saying about the latest film in the slasher series.

First, understand that Scream VI may gross the highest amount of ticket sales in the franchise’s history at the box office this weekend. In Thursday (March 9) previews, Spyglass Media and Paramount’s celebrated slasher movie raked in $5.7 million at the domestic box office.

Roughly 27 years after the initial Scream feature freaked moviegoers out, the series is still making waves on the scene. In January 2022, Scream (2022) made $3.5 million in Thursday screenings prior to pulling in $30 million opening weekend.

Scream VI is seeking to dethrone its previous successor with a projected premiere between $35M-$40M this weekend.

Scream VI Reviews: Twitter Weighs in on the Latest Installment

One Twitter user posted, “Can’t remember the last time I wanted to go see a movie again right away so badly. There’s so much happening in Scream VI and I think it’s going to be one of the most rewatchable of an already extremely rewatchable franchise. #ScreamVI.”

Another person tweeted, “#ScreamVI is a major improvement from Scream 5. Everyone that ‘dislikes’ Melissa Barrera/Sam Carpenter will be SURPRISED. Sam delivered EVERYTHING & more. I know from experience because I was a major critic of her and now I LOVE her. I’m very happy she’s leading this franchise.”

Another Scream fan shared, “#ScreamVI is an adrenaline rush. One of the most intense Scream movies that fleshes out the characters from the last movie and feels both fresh and new while also cleverly playing tribute to what came before. Probably the best sequel since Scream 2.”

Scream VI is set in New York City this time around (versus Woodsboro, Calif.), and bears a new cast of young adults doing their best to avoid being butchered by the Ghostface masked killer.
