Rep. George Santos appears to be naming a new measure after rapper Nicki Minaj in a tribute to her well-known COVID-19 vaccine hesitation.
Santos on Tuesday introduced the “Medical Information Nuanced Accountability Judgement Act,” or MINAJ Act, H.R. 2631, which would make it illegal for the federal government to impose “any mandate requiring an individual to receive a vaccine that has not been authorized for marketing for at least ten years unless a public health emergency is declared.”
The legislation’s name was a sort of homage to the “Up All Night” hitmaker, though Santos’ office did not immediately confirm this to ITK.

After expressing on social media that her cousin’s description of his friend’s vaccination played a role in her choice not to have a shot protecting herself against the coronavirus in 2021, Minaj attracted attention and received widespread jeers.
“My cousin in Trinidad won’t get the vaccine cuz his friend got it & became impotent. His testicles became swollen,” the Young Money star at the time posted on Twitter.
“His friend was weeks away from getting married, now the girl called off the wedding. So just pray on it & make sure you’re comfortable with ur decision, not bullied.”
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention do not include testicular edema as an adverse effect of COVID-19 vaccinations.
Santos, who is presently the subject of numerous inquiries into allegations of making false statements and financial malfeasance, stated in a statement regarding his bill that “Medical Freedom is an absolute right.”
“I urge my colleagues to join me in this mission to block tyrannical and draconian measures from being utilized by the Federal Government,” expressed the politician.
