Nicki Minaj starting a record label?! Yes, it is so!

During the most recent episode of her podcast, Queen Radio, the “Chun Li” rapper made the announcement that she has begun the process of establishing her own music company.

“There’s a big announcement coming. Well, I have a record label now,” the 40-year-old shared, keeping the name of it a top secret for now.

Although Minaj (seemingly) wasn’t ready to take on the responsibility of leading others in the industry… at one point in her career, she added that she was aware of the labor that went into building your own label and the requirements to act as a support system for fellow musicians.

Having said that, Minaj is now prepared to collaborate with up-and-coming artists on their journey to making a worldwide name for themselves, musically!

She said, “There’s no real person that believes in them. That’s like, ‘Nah, I’m gonna make it my business to see you shine’. That’s why I never wanted to do a label before because I said to myself… unless I’m ready to really put these artists on, I’m not gonna ruin anyone’s life.”

Recently, the “Red Ruby Da Sleeze” rhymer was seen posted up with her Young Money family, which is where Minaj’s rise to global stardom all began. Lil Wayne brought the rapstress out during his set at Rolling Loud.

Reportedly, Minaj’s label won’t focus solely on Hip-Hip music but will also release music in other genres as well. She said; “Don’t think my label is just rap, or black, or anything. We got some other genres of music.”

Nana Fofie, Tate Kobang, Rico Danna, and London Hill are some of the artists signed to Minaj’s record company. Minaj’s operation will be run by an A&R executive who is a long-time friend of the writer Patty Lauren, commonly known as Patty Duke.

Although the name of Minaj’s label is yet to be known, we wish her good luck on her newest endeavor!
