Nicki Minaj & Ice Spice Partnership — What Are These Ladies Up To?
Wait, Nicki Minaj and Ice Spice have entered a partnership? Just know, it’s about to go down.
The “Munch” hitmaker has joined forces with Minaj’s brand-new record company, Heavy On It.
The Young Money diva revealed the name of her label while returning to her Apple Music show Queen Radio.
Ice Spice will work with the agency, and Nicki Minaj has further confirmed it: “Heavy On It is the label, and I’m proud to announce my partnership with the one and only Ice Spice.” Additionally, the two rap stars are working together on a remix of the recently released track ‘Princess Diana‘ by Ice Spice.
The song quickly rose to the top of U.S. iTunes within hours of its release. It’s vital to note that she has not joined Heavy On It and left her previous record company; rather, Spice is merely forging a collaboration with them.
Nicki Minaj & Ice Spice Partnership Shakes Rap Game
In other news, Drake has reportedly distanced himself from a recent viral AI-generated cover of Ice Spice’s hit record “Munch” featuring him rapping. The “God’s Plan” star likes Ice Spice, but doesn’t care for the “Munch” cover.
He posted a message about the AI clip along with the statement, “This is the last straw,” on his story. Drizzy’s response is in line with recent allegations claiming that Universal Music Group ordered Spotify and all other music streaming services disable AI versions of its artists and the songs that are protected by copyright.
According to Financial Times, UMG has been submitting take-down requests “left and right” as AI-generated music have started to appear on streaming networks. Via email, UMG sent the following statement to streaming platforms in March: “We will not hesitate to take steps to protect our rights and those of our artists.
“We have a moral and commercial responsibility to our artists to work to prevent the unauthorized use of their music and to stop platforms from ingesting content that violates the rights of artists and other creators. We expect our platform partners will want to prevent their services from being used in ways that harm artists.”
