Showmax has a spicy show, titled Adulting. The freshly-released series is an eight-part South-African drama that follows the interesting dynamic of modern-day “bromance.” Here’s your opportunity to meet the cast of Adulting on Showmax.
Phathu Makwarela is responsible for both the writing and production of Adulting, while Menga Nhlabathi is acknowledged for her work as the director of this project. Additionally, it is the first Showmax Original produced by Tshedza Pictures.
SYNOPSIS:
According to Showmax, Adulting is a drama that takes place in Johannesburg and examines the parallel realities of four college buddies–there’s a family man, a playboy, an Alpha male, and a single dad.
Even though they have traveled down completely different paths in life, they have managed to stay together thanks to the strong tie that exists between them. In the series, we follow them as they negotiate their occupations and relationships in Joburg over the course of their lives.
The cast of Adulting includes Luthando BU Mthembu (Big Brother Mzansi, Ayeye: Stripped, Redemption) plays the role of toy-boy Vuyani, Thabiso Rammusi (The Suit) plays the role of cheating family man Mpho, and Nhanhla Kunene (Lavish, Muvhango) plays the role of hot-headed bad-boy Eric. Thembinkosi Mthembu plays the role of successful businessman Bonga.
The first episode of Adulting aired on March 20, 2023, and subsequent episodes air weekly on Mondays.

Thembinkosi Zidane Mthembu as Bonga
Bonga is performed by Thembinkosi Mthembu, often known as “The River.” Even if he doesn’t believe in love, he is a guy who isn’t afraid to go after what he wants in life. As he competes for a contract worth R80 million, he has reached a point in his life where things are beginning to shift for him.
Bawinile Ntshaba
Winnie Ntshaba is known for her role as MaDlomo in the SAFTA-winning series The River. She plays the role of a sugar mother who spoils her young lover in Adulting.
Lucky Kunene KaMbulazi
Nhlanhla Kunene portrays the role of Eric, a hot-headed bad boy who is trying his best to be a good father. He has a very restrained relationship with his daughter as he is only allowed minimal contact with his daughter.
Zola Ayabulela Mhlongo
Actress Zola Mhlongo is well-known for her part in the South African daytime drama Uzalo. She is a presenter on television and radio, in addition to being an actress and event host.
Thabiso Rammusi
Mpho, played by Thabiso Rammusi, is a family man who is having an affair behind his kids and wife’s backs. Thabiso Rammusi is a man of many talents, and when he’s not working on a set, he enjoys working out.
Luthando BU Mthembu
Vuyani, the boy toy who is dependent on his sugar mother, Beth, is portrayed by Big Brother Mzansi’s Luthando BU Mthembu. He is not overly serious, and he has the ability to make something that is otherwise quite serious seem humorous.
