Bill Cosby is now being sued by nine more women in federal court in Nevada, who claim that the infamous comedian drugged and sexually assaulted them.
The complaint was filed only a few weeks after Nevada Governor Joe Lombardo signed legislation repealing a rule requiring adults to report alleged sexual assault within two years of the alleged incidence.
The cases involving women happened between 1979 and 1992.
Lise Lotte-Lublin, one of the accusers, expressed in a statement quoted by the Las Vegas Review-Journal, “For years I have fought for survivors of sexual assault and today is the first time I will be able to fight for myself.
“With the new law change, I now have the ability to take my assailant Bill Cosby to court. My journey has just begun, but I am grateful for this opportunity to find justice.”
Bill Cosby Now Has 9 Women After Him
The two-year window prevented Lotte-Lublin from suing Cosby for taking advantage of her sexually and providing her laced beverages in 1989.
The other women assert that Cosby drugged them in hotels, dressing rooms, and private residences. Unidentified woman claims Cosby persuaded her to take the trip from New York to Nevada by pretending to be her acting instructor.
The fresh allegations come only a few weeks after Cosby was sued on June 1 in California by a former Playboy model who said he had drugged and sexually assaulted her in 1969.
Since California temporarily extended the statute of limitations for victims of adult sexual assault earlier this year, Victoria Valentino, 80, has been permitted to file the claim.
