Juneteenth: A Global Celebration For Freedom is being presented by CNN on June 19th at 8PM ET.

Juneteenth has become a celebration not only in our cultural but it is being recognized globally as well.

After the Emancipation was signed by Abraham Lincoln, two years later it was announced that all Black Americans were freed.

On June 19, 1865 African American people were announced as being free in Texas of 1865. Which created many to rejoice after spending decades enslaved.

CNN decided to start a celebration on their network celebrating black culture, with musical performances & stories that explain the pursuit for freedom and social injustice.

The celebration started last year and was presented by Live Nation Urban who is also going to be the same host this year as well.
