Tiffany Haddish is sharing her side of her break-up story two years after her split from Common.

The 43-year-old comedienne shared the way their relationship ended with the Washington Post and said her split from Common wasn’t mutual.

This is the opposite of what Common said in an interview with Hollywood Unlocked’ ‘s Jason Lee. He said ‘[We] came to the understanding that this is what’s gonna be best for us,’ The 51-year-old actor even went as far as calling it a mutual decision.

He said to Complex magazine “I don’t think the love really dispersed. I just think it was like we weren’t feeding the relationship. Neither one of us is gonna stop. We both care about our crafts and what we do,”

Common and Tiffany Haddish started dating during the pandemic. After three months, they made their relationship public in August 2020. Then they broke up over a year later.

Tiffany Haddish described the relationship as the “healthiest, the funniest relationship I’ve ever had,”

Despite what she felt during the relationship, it didn’t save it eventually.

She sensed things were going downhill when he started distancing himself from her.

Apparently, he went to major events like a visit to Barrack Obama’s birthday party and a concert without her. If that wasn’t enough, she wasn’t invited to his birthday party.

This all played out before he finally called it quits over the phone.

She replied to him by saying “Okay. Like you gonna be a 50-year-old single man. Okay?’”

The experience was definitely hurtful for Hadish as she earlier explained to Jason Lee “I was very disappointed. I was like, ‘Oh, okay.’ ‘Cause that’s not what you told me, but okay.'”

Meanwhile, Common believes their hectic schedules got in the way of their relationship. He said to Complex “’ It’s really honestly, it’s actually committing to so much work that we do. It’s hard when the other person is working just as much, to actually give time and love and nurture into the relationship.”
