Designer Tremaine Emory has reportedly exited his tenure as creative director at Supreme.

Sources have reportedly told Complex Magazine that the reason for his departure is currently unknown, and that Supreme’s Fall/Winter 2023 collection will be the last under his creative direction.

The news arrives just over one year since Tremaine joined Supreme as their creative director in February 2022. The famed streetwear brand was first under his creative direction in Spring/Summer Summer 2023. It’s first pieces from Tremaine’s second full collection, Supreme Fall/Winter 2023, was recenly released and reportedly a hit with fans, and collectors of the brand.

During a recent interview with Just Smile Magazine, Tremaine gave a piece of advice to kids who were interested in breaking into creative industries even if they don’t have “conventional design backgrounds.”

“I would want kids to know that you can do what you really love and with luck, hard work and support from your community, you can make it. How that pans out, I don’t know, I can’t say that you’re gonna become the creative director of Supreme or Louis Vuitton. I can say that you will be able to live a life that you won’t regret. I don’t know what treasures would be on your path, but you will live a life you won’t regret if you do those things and really just foster relationships with people you genuinely care about and who care about the same things that you care about. I would caution kids who care about the validation of these big conglomerates and media giants because these conglomerates are banks.”

Within just two seasons, Tremaine added his own touch to Supreme including collaborating with the likes of Cactus Plant Flea Markets Cynthia Lu, NBA YoungBoy, Coogi and others. Earlier in 2023, he additionally collaborated with designer Kim Jones and the iconic Dior for a Dior Tears capsule.

Tremaine currently runs his own clothing line, Denim Tears, which is a huge hit among celebrities and fashion afficiandos alike. He launched the brand back in 2019. As of right now his Instagram bio has no mention of Supreme as it only lists him as the co-creative director/owner of No Vacancy Inn and Denim Tears.
