Word has been circulating on the street for awhile that Eminem‘s cult classic film 8 Mile will ultimately release a sequel. Thing is, how true is the speculation or is it plain malarkey?
It appears there will be no change to the legacy of the rap battle film 8 Mile.
According to Eminem’s business partner and longtime manager Paul Rosenberg, the classic movie 8 Mile won’t have a follow-up.
The song “Lose Yourself” from the original 8 Mile, which debuted in 2002, won the Academy Award for Best Original Song.
After business entrepreneur 50 Cent said he was working on a TV series for the movie, rumors started to spread.
‘8 Mile’ Will Not See a Sequel
In January, when appearing on Big Boy’s Neighborhood, 50 gave a glimpse of the concept.
The show, according to him, will advance Eminem’s “legacy.” In a recent interview with Men’s Health, he spoke about the idea.
“This sh*t is expected to be just as big as the feature film, just huge, it’ll be huge,” the “Candy Shop” rapper expressed. “The interest in it is because the time period that 8 Mile was capturing further back, so as we move it into modern times you’ll see things about how we function now, how technology changed the way people enter the music business.”
Just wanna clear this up. There is no 8 Mile sequel. It does not and won’t exist.

Shady Records former president and co-founder Paul Rosenberg provided clarification on the matter on social media on Friday.
“Just wanna clear this up. There is no 8 Mile sequel. It does not and won’t exist,” Rosenberg shared. He made no explicit mention of 50’s suggestion for a TV show. Users’ reactions to the news were conflicted.
“That’s good. Some movies are already unique. Don’t need a sequel. Except for an album called Relapse,” one fan posted. Another person said that the remark might not even apply to the G-Unit boss’ TV program. “Thank you, we don’t want that. We want The TV Show, Based off 8-Mile.”
