It’s been 3 years since Bronx Bred, Capella Grey became a viral sensation with the smash hit song, “Gyalis.” While the song became the song of the Summer, and led to a label deal with Capitol Records, the success would be short-lived. Label issues caused delays with follow-up singles, and no full-length project would be delivered. But, finally, the Capella Grey debut album is upon us. Capella Grey Vibe Responsibly Vol. 1 was released on Friday, June 21st.
The Capella Grey debut album is being released with support from independent California record label, 10k Projects. The label is home to artists like Ice Spice and Trippie Redd.
Despite not releasing a full-length protector since he premiered on the scene, Capella Grey has been consistently dropping music these last few years. He has even turned himself into a go-to artist for feature collaboration, particularly among New Yorkers. He has teamed up with Jim Jones, Joey Bada$$, Busta Rhymes, A Boogie, and even Chris Brown, among others.
Capella Grey EP Releases
After he left Capitol Records, last July, he released his EP, Here, Damn. The project was for frustrated fans that were prepared for new music. In December 2023, he followed that up with, Nah Its Brick (A Holiday Vibe). While both projects were integral in holding fans over, neither had the impact of “Gyalis” or featured a song that could rival its play value. The Juvenile sample simply could not be denied.
Capella Grey Vibe Responsibly Vol. 1 First Listen
In more recent months Capella has gotten back to his groove, releasing songs that have been making people pay attention once again. One such song is the newest single “Strings” featuring French Montana and Fivio Foreign.
Also featured on the Capella debut album is 2023 single, “Baechester.” The song also features a heavy sample, though it doesn’t appear to be credited on streaming services. The song still had potential to be a Summer anthem if it can pick up some steam.
