If you’re a longtime watcher of The Real Housewives of Atlanta, a common question to ask is… are Claudia Jordan and Kenya Moore still friends?
Seasons 5 and 7 of the Bravo phenomenon saw actresses/models Kenya and Claudia subsequently joining the main cast and instantly wrecking Housewives havoc.
To this day, many are interested in the current status of the beauties’ relationship.
So.. are Claudia Jordan and Kenya Moore still friends?
Claudia and Kenya were both at the height of Hollywood in the ’90s and early 2000s, so it can be assumed that the two hot commodities crossed paths in the industry at some point.
While it’s unclear (exactly) how they met, in a 2020 episode of FOX SOUL’s Out Loud with Claudia Jordan, Claudia recalled doing a celebrity golf tournament in the U.S. Virgin Islands with Kenya back in the day.
During the golfing event, at the beginning of their friendship, Claudia remembered receiving a few “palm trees” from the proclaimed “Shade Assassin.” Apparently, the trip organizer had a thing for Ms. Jordan, and Kenya indicated that he landed Claudia a photo op in the Islands that she wasn’t too fond of.
“Do you remember… we had the golf tournament, and the next day, your picture was on the cover of some… like, the local magazine or newspaper?” Kenya explained. “I was mad about that! I was like, ‘Oh really? I’m the Miss USA, but this girl over here–you know, me being shady–this girl over here is on the cover?'”
Obviously, by the time Claudia received her peach, Kenya had buried the hatchet because she, Claudia, and her ace, Cynthia Bailey, became the ultimate trio.
Despite Claudia’s spat with Nene and Kenya’s ex-beef with her s14 Celebrity Apprentice co-star, fellow actress Vivica A. Fox (who would later become Claudia’s co-host on Cocktail with Queens), the pageant queens aren’t in a bad space today. If you didn’t know, Kenya and Vivica controversially starred on the Celebrity Apprentice together, as did Claudia in previous seasons but guested on theirs.
Claudia Jordan and Kenya Moore were good girlfriends before The Real Housewives of Atlanta and still are today.
In a 2015 interview with HipHollywood, Kenya shared that she and Claudia had been friends for over 10 years.
Almost a decade later, the same sentiments remain regarding where she and the former Rickey Smiley Show host stand in 2024.
When speaking on Kenya’s RHOA s16 scandal, Claudia defended Kenya to TMZ and said, “Is it worth watching if she’s not going to be on it? I think she’s a big part of that success, and I hope it’s only a temporary thing.”
Claudia further explained to TheShadeRoom, “I’ve been meaning to call Kenya. We never really spoke a lot, even at the height of our friendship.”
She added, “You ever have a friend that y’all may talk one or two times a year, but when you pick up the phone, you just pick right back up where you left were? That’s our friendship.”
Claudia concluded by citing that although they haven’t been super close, they’re “all good. She also feels that Bravo’s punishment toward Kenya is “unfair” due to other behavior she’s seen displayed on the show.
Why did Claudia Jordan leave RHOA?
Claudia made headlines recently after admitting she’d be open to a Real Housewives of Atlanta return if offered a “nice contract.”
In an exclusive from Entertainment Tonight, she confessed, “It was a great experience, and I still get love to this day–and I would definitely go back.”
There were rumors that Claudia’s initial departure was due to her feud with Nene, but in a 2024 interview with Xtra Access TV, she cleared the air.
“I was mentally exhausted, and then they asked me to come back as a friend of the show,” she recounted. “I was like, ‘You should just bring me back when a peach.’ And then they really were focusing on [me] coming back in a relationship, and at the time, I was dating someone that [I] was not ready to be putting them on camera.”
Ultimately, Claudia concluded that she was glad she chose not to return with her then-boo thang because she “would’ve been humiliated” since it didn’t work out.
