Since 2008, the couple has been on and off, publicly. But they were in each other’s lives long before we even knew. From statements from both Kevin and Dreka Gates, they have been together since they were teenagers. Married for almost 10 years, the couple says that despite their marital issues, they are best friends.
“Life was f*cking life’ing. I swear that’s all it boils down to. I no longer tour. That I no longer do. But at the end of the day, that’s still my best friend. We have been together since we were babies. Like we have literally been together for 20 years. That’s a lot to be with someone. We are both bringing our own sh*t into this relationship. So when you do not see us together, we are working on ourselves. I am working on me, and he is working on himself,” Dreka explained during The Baller Alert interview.
Are Kevin Gates & Dreka In An Open Relationship?
Although, Kevin and Dreka are a little further away from each other at the moment, many fans are still wondering if they are in an open marriage. In 2022, Kevin dropped his remix to Kodak Black’s “Supper Gremlin” called “Super General.” After the release many fans questioned if he cheated on Dreka.

It wasn’t wasn’t until a couple of years later where Kevin seemingly spoke on the song in an interview with Caresha. He stated that they are best friends and no matter what happens, he will always love her.
But during the 2024 BET Awards, Kevin Gates was spotted with a mystery woman that had many questioning the couple’s status. Kevin Gates did not acknowledge the rumors about who the mystery woman was but we discovered it was his wellness coach Jade Ramey — according to a post by the The Shaderoom.
Kevin & Dreka have built their life from the ground up…literally. They have put blood, sweat and tears into their marriage, and also into their businesses. They have collaborated on many projects, one being their Bread Winners’ Label. But it doesn’t seem as though the couple is ready to call it quits just yet.
Even though there have been many marital issues, I think it is safe to say that they are still willing to work it all out. Like all marriages, sometimes you just need a minute to grow separately so you can fly together.
