Compton Rapper YG is one of the hottest West Coast rappers right now, known for club hits like “My Nigga,” “Who Do You Love?” and “Don’t Tell Him” with Jeremih. He’s had longstanding creative ties with DJ Mustard, but his romantic relationships haven’t held as strong. At least not in the public. The same can be said for R&B songstress Kehlani who has had a number of public relationships kind of fizzle after intense public sparks. Let’s take a look at the YG and Kehlani relationship drama and their dating history.
In 2019, YG and Kehlani started and ended a very public relationship that became the subject of Kehlani’s album It Was Good Until It Wasn’t. Before the two got together, she said that he had been shooting his shot, but at the time it was better for them to focus on their growing careers. Come 2019, her tune had changed as she hard launched her and YG on Instagram. They also made an appearance at New York Fashion Week that year, further confirming their relationship. Soon after, a video dropped on The Shade Room revealing YG’s alleged infidelity. He was caught allegedly making out with another woman in his Lamborghini. His team issued a statement to TSR, claiming he ‘was drunk’ and ‘got carried away,’ stating that YG had no intention to hurt Kehlani. Besides removing photos of the two on her socials, Kehlani went radio silent on the incident until confirming their breakup at the end of the year.
But even their conclusion was inconclusive. YG and Kehlani were spotted together at the 2020 Grammys, and they released a romantic song called Konclusions together just before Valentine’s day. As if that turnaround wasn’t messy enough, three days later Kehlani puts out a solo Valentine’s Day song detailing her experience with YG and his cheating. The two are said to have ended on good terms.
Currently, YG is seeing Saweetie, who he’s been dating since 2023. Outside of his relationships, he also just put out his new album, The Gentleman’s Club, and will be taking on The Game on Verzuz.
