Atlanta rapper Gunna is saying goodbye to Young Stoner Life (YSL) Records, a decade with the label, and launching his own called SB The Label.
Gunna is taking his music career to a different level and adding a new tag. Not just a rapper and songwriter, but also a label owner. The rapper serves as the CEO of SB The Label, and the label was launched in partnership with Atlantic Records. Atlantic Music Group Chairman and CEO Elliot Grainge said, “It’s impossible to overstate Gunna’s influence on this generation of hip-hop and music as a whole. We’re grateful and honored that he’s chosen AMG as his partner to bring this endeavor to music fans.”
In an interview, Gunna shared, “SB the Label represents the beginning of a new chapter for me.” He also shared that three artists were already signed to the new label. SB The Label is promising new faces and fresh talents. Artists like Casper Bluff and Nechie are being recruited to the label.
The 33-year-old rapper shared his excitement about the project and optimism about the future. He shared, “For me, this is about stepping into a new role, expanding what I can create, and building something that represents where I’m headed next.”
Executives from 300 Entertainment and Atlantic Records Hip-Hop commended this move by Gunna. They said, “SB the Label is a natural extension of his vision, and we’re honoured that he’s entrusted 300 Entertainment/Atlantic Music Group as his partner.” Additionally, “We’ve watched Gunna grow into not only one of his generation’s defining artists but also a true leader as an entrepreneur and executive,”
Gunna has been busy in the studio cooking up a few delights for fans. On oct 9, he dropped the lead single “pop it” for his highly anticipated album. The album titled “Spurlge” follows his last album, “The Last Wun” released in 2025. So far, he has a total of 6 studio albums, with “Drip Harder” being his most successful one.
