The YSL RICO trial has been one of the instances that has received the most attention in recent years. Young Thug and other defendants have entered guilty pleas, marking a major development in the case, and the rapper might be free to go home.

On October 31, Young Thug, real name Jeffery Williams, taken the guilty plead in the YSL RICO Trial. The rapper admitted his involvement in violent street gangs in his guilty plea.

A lot of celebrities spoke up in Young Thug’s defense including Fat Joe who admitted to CNN saying, “What’s even more horrible is that the district attorneys, they know those lyrics ain’t real. They know that’s creativity but if it helps their case, they’ll use it to put these guys in jail.

The YSL Rico Trial which is tagged as “the longest court case in Georgia history” is coming to an end. Since the rapper and co-defendant pleaded guilty, many are wondering what will happen next. According to reports, the judge has to make a decision

“The plea change by the rapper appeared on the brink of not happening after Superior Court Judge Paige Whitaker asked if he agreed to a non-negotiated plea. That means prosecutors and the defense could not come to a sentencing deal, and that the judge still ultimately decides his punishment.”

Apparently, “Young Thug was near a plea deal that would have released him from jail today on 15 years probation. But they couldn’t agree on his release conditions, and now prosecutors are recommending 25 years in prison.”

Meanwhile, Young Thug’s co-defendant, Quamarvious Nichols also took the guilty plea and admitted to one charge on Oct 28. He was sentenced to 7 Years in custody of which he already served 2 years. Also, he will serve 13 years of probation. 2 others accepted the guilty plea.

According to reports, Yak Gotti and Shannon Stillwell, who are both co-defendants of Thug, have turned down plea agreements and will proceed with their court proceedings.

The prosecutors suggested a 25-year sentence, however, was not accepted by the judge who took sympathy on the rapper who had behind the bars of a Fulton County jail since 2022.

In the final verdict delivered by Judge Paige Reese Whitaker, Young Thug is to spend

“40 years, to serve five years but commuted to time served 15 years on probation Then a “backloaded” 20 years, which will be served in custody if he doesn’t complete probation.”
