Cleveland, Ohio goes up against Memphis, Tennessee live from California in the latest Verzuz.  It’s the Bone Thugs-N-Harmony vs Three 6 Mafia Verzuz, matching up two of the biggest groups in Hip-Hop history against each other.

A guide to Bone Thugs-N-Harmony

Famously discovered by NWA legend, Eazy-E, the group consists of Bizzy Bone, Wish Bone, Layzie Bone, Krayzie Bone and Flesh-n-Bone.  Flesh-N-Bone didn’t originally sign to Ruthless Records and was locked up in 1998 for 10 years on a gun charge, assault and probation violation, so he wasn’t featured on a lot of the music during much of the prime Bone years. Bone Thugs-N-Harmony is the only group that has worked with 2Pac, the Notorious B.I.G., Eazy-E, and Big Pun while they were all still alive.

Bone Thugs have released 10 group albums.  They have also formed a number of sub groups among them including Mo Thugs and Bone Brothers.  All the members of Bone Thugs-N-Harmony have also released solo albums with the exception of Wish Bone.

Their biggest hits include “1st of Tha Month,” “Thuggish Ruggish Bone,” “Thug Luv” and of course “Tha Crossroads,” their tribute to Eazy-E.  Mo Thugs biggest hit was “Ghetto Cowboy.”

In addition to the above features they have songs with Mariah Carey, Wiz Khalifa, Master P, Twista, The Game, DJ Khaled and more.

A guide to Three 6 Mafia

Three 6 Mafia went from being underground famous to becoming the first rap act to win an Academy Award for best song in a film.

Their members include DJ Paul, Juicy J, Gangsta Boo, Crunchy Black, and deceased members Lord Infamous and Koopsta Knicca. Affiliated members include Project Pat and Lil Wyte.

They have released 9 official group albums, but several projects for soundtracks or with select members or affiliates.

Both DJ Paul and Juicy J produce for themselves and other artists. They have released solo albums as well, along with Gangsta Boo with Juicy J becoming a prominent solo act and producer.  Doubt they’ll have time to get into that bag, but Juicy J has songs with Megan Thee Stallion, Nicki Minaj, Lil Wayne, Kanye West and Wale among others.
