Syleena Johnson performs “I Am Your Woman” and a slew of hits at a recent show in NYC, including majority of the songs on her latest project, Chapter 6: Couple’s Therapy.
The newest album serves as the seventh one on Johnson’s roster, released by Blakbyrd and eOne Music. When speaking of the body of work, All Music editor Andy Kellman said, “[Chapter 6: Couple’s Therapy] reflects what Johnson has been through and covers a broader spectrum of emotions.”
Kellman continued, “There are many moods between [the] highlights, and they’re all revealed with the same high level of conviction heard in Johnson’s previous output.”
In conclusion, the review read, “This is yet another pleasing, down-to-earth addition to one of the steadiest R&B discographies of the 2000s and 2010s.”
During Johnson’s NYC performance, she also reached into her bag and pulled out other classics like “Slowly,” “Hypnotiq,” and “No Words.”
