Singer Avant was on hand in New York City for a special rooftop performance of his classic, “Separated,” presented by Caroline Records.
Titled The Midsummer Night’s Dream R&B Rooftop Concert, the event was also a great opportunity for Avant to announce the release of his upcoming album, The VIII, which will be out on September 25th.
As part of the night, he sang one of his early hits, “Separated.”
Originally debuted in 2000, Avant crooned, “Every time I see you, I get a bad vibe / Just thinkin’ of someone else in between your thighs / And you thought you were slick, had tricks up your sleeve / But I’m sick of your stupid a** and I know you’re tired of me.”
He continued over the music, “That’s why I say / And when we were together / We never turned our backs on each other (over now) / But now that we’re separated / We can’t stand one another.”
