Donald Glover Hints Next Childish Gambino Album Will Be Last
Is Childish Gambino Retiring From Hip-Hop???
Donald Glover performed at the end of Day 2 of the Governor’s Ball Saturday June 3rd and revealed that the next album under his Childish Gambino persona may be the last.
In the video below, you can hear him tell the crowd “Thank you. You’re in my heart. I’ll see you for the last Gambino album.”

Donald Glover has become a busy man over the past few years, so it’s understandable if he’s ready to wrap up one avenue of his life to focus on others. Not only will be portray Lando Calrissian in next year’s Star Wars, but he’s also attached to 2019’s live-action The Lion King as Simba and has both Season 2 of Atlanta and Season 1 of the upcoming animated Deadpool cartoon on FXX to worry about.
Glover released three albums as Childish Gambino, the latest being last year’s Awaken, My Love!. His 2013 album, Because the Internet, was nominated for a Grammy Award for best rap album.
