Watch The Official Teaser For The DETROIT Film, In Theaters This August
The official teaser for the highly anticipated 2017 film, DETROIT, has been released. Scheduled to hit theaters this August, DETROIT tells the unsettling story of one of the most horrific events to take place in the history of civil unrest. The film is based on the infamous 1967 Algiers Motel incident, in Detroit, Michigan, that occurred during the 12th Street Riot, and will show the adversities faced amidst the troubling events. On July 25th, 1967, a report that a gunman or a group of gunmen had been seen near the motel resulted in three killings and nine brutal beatings by the Detroit Police Department, the Michigan State Police, the Michigan Army National Guard, and a private security guard. Amongst those victims happened to be ten black males–three who were killed and seven brutally beaten, and two white females who were also wounded.
The film stars John Boyega, Will Poulter, Algee Smith, Jacob Latimore, Jason Mitchell, Hannah Murray, Kaitlyn Dever, Jack Reynor, Ben O’Toole, Joseph David-Jones, John Krasinski and Anthony Mackie.
DETROIT will be in theaters on August 4th.
