Joe Jackson Dead at 89 After Battle with Terminal Cancer
Just two days after the ninth anniversary of his iconic son’s death, Joe Jackson has unfortunately passed away at the age of 89, TMZ informs.
According to the gossip site, Mr. Jackson was called home around 3:30 a.m. this morning in Las Vegas, Nevada, from terminal cancer, which he was recently hospitalized for last week.
Reportedly, Jackson had been dealing with the illness for quite some time. Sources revealed that the complications had gotten severe, and it was quickly progressing into its final stages and could not be treated. It was said that Jackson had grown “significantly weak” and that “the end could come at any time.”
Following the heartbreaking news, his wife, Katherine, along with their children and grandchildren rushed to his bedside to prepare for the goodbye. Jackson had allegedly planned to live out his last days at his home in Las Vegas, but sadly, he didn’t get the chance to. Instead, he was moved from the hospital to a hospice but died shortly thereafter.
Over the weekend, a tweet was posted to Jackson’s Twitter account, indicating that he knew his time here on earth had run its course. His granddaughter, Paris, thought the tweet was “sweet” but not written by her grandfather. She later stated that she was “upset to see whoever in-charge of this account taking advantage of it.”

As we know, Jackson had been fighting health issues for the past few years. In 2015, he suffered a stroke and three heart attacks back-to-back, which resulted in doctors implanting a pacemaker, and in 2016, he was also hospitalized for high fever.
The patriarch of the legendary Jackson family, together, Joe and Katherine Jackson shared ten children–two of those who we know as everyone’s favorite brother-and-sister duo, the ‘King and Queen of Pop’, Michael and Janet Jackson.
We send our deepest prayers and condolences to the Jackson family during their time of grief.
Rest in Power, Mr. Joe Jackson.
