In the moment where a member of the Supreme Court Justice, Anthony Kennedy, is retiring, some new music has dropped from the Maybach Music Group. Meek Mill is back, haven’t written a rap while in prison, with the track Stay Woke, which features Miguel.

Meek Mill’s Stay Woke originally premiered on the 2018 BET Awards, where he performed in front of a melanin blessed crowd. His performance, including live actors/actress, an inner city background, and Miguel singing, has been receiving good reviews from spectators. Meek also paid homage to XXXtentacion – X was gunned down in the streets of Florida – by wearing a hoodie with X’s face on it.

Stay Woke is a message the DreamChaser has for the American Justice System, the same system that has been injustice to black people – Mass incarceration, police brutality, and inequality.

“On them papers, one mistake and I’m gettin’ caged in / You gotta feel me, feel like the system tryna kill me,”  were words Meek rapped on a Mike DZL beat.

“Got arrested and the charges F1 for popping wheelies, stay woke,” Adding Meek Mill before Miguel comes in for the soul chorus.

Attendees among the BET Award crowd: Nicki MinajSafaree, and other black media stars.
