[PREVIEW] Bestselling Novel ‘Nappily Ever After’ Becomes A Netflix Movie Starring Sanaa Lathan
Coming September 21, 2018 to the Netflix platform is the movie Nappily Ever After, starring Sanaa Lathan. Nappily Ever After is based on Trisha R. Thomas best-selling novel that has the same name.
Sanaa Lathan plays Violet, who seems to have the perfect life: great job, beautiful home, loving boyfriend and hair done to look the best. When her boyfriend, played by Ricky Whittle, fails to propose to her, she decides to give it up all, starting with her hair. It’s all up to Violet to piece her life back together and look for meaning beyond her hair.
The original idea for the movie had Halle Berry as the lead role, according to MovieWeb.com.
Nappily Ever After is directed by Haifaa Al-Mansour and written by Tina Gordon Chism, Lisa Loomer, Adam Brooks, and Gina Prince-Bythewood.
The film also stars: Lynn Whitfield (Eve’s Bayou), Erin Hudson (Grace and Frankie), Camille Guaty (Prison Break), Lyriq Bent (She’s Gotta Have It) and Brittany S. Hall (Ballers).
