Are you looking to monetize your online presence and increase your social media following? The popularity of the “personal brand” is more prevalent now than ever and many people are growing and using their online platforms to connect with others and reach financial freedom.

How do you do that, though? Those influencers make it look so easy.

Growing your social media following organically isn’t as easy as it once was. Many of the popular people online “struck while the iron was hot”, so to speak. That doesn’t mean that you can’t do it now, but you’ll need to employ some strategies to get there.

Keep reading to learn a few ways that you can get more organic social media followers.

Post Frequently

Different platforms have different ideal posting habits and you’ll have to find the ones that work for you. It isn’t necessary to use all social media platforms (especially if some don’t work for your brand) but it’s good to use several so that you can get a larger viewership.

To increase instagram followers daily Instagram posts, especially if you’re an artist, tend to be successful. You can also post speed-draws (or other short videos if you’re not an art account) to TikTok and cross-post them to your Instagram stories for double the impact.

Frequent posts on Facebook (which has an older user base than many other platforms) aren’t as successful, so 2 or 3 posts weekly may suffice (though you can easily cross-post from Instagram).

Hashtag and Geotag Everything

How are your new followers supposed to find you if you don’t show up on their radar? Plenty of people follow specific hashtags to find content that they want to see. When you’re using a site that supports hashtags, use them so that people with mutual interests see you.

Overusing can be annoying to potential followers, so make sure to be discreet and minimal. 5-10 is a good number to aim for.

Geotagging allows people to see the area that you’re posting from. Posting from popular landmarks is a great way for people in your area to see you. Although if you happen to be trying to maintain privacy this may not be the best choice for you.

Get Personal

Part of building a personal brand is authenticity. The “social” aspect of social media is important to many users, especially digital natives who have been using the internet to connect from the time they were small.

In other words, people can tell if you’re trying too hard.

Authenticity means connecting with your audience (which can be done through video posts and live streams) but it also means posting about things that feel “real” which your customers can connect with.

Trying to Boost Your Social Media Following? No Problem

It’s not as easy now as it once was to get a larger social media following. The wave is behind us.

Keep track of new social media sites and try to get in before the site gets popular so you have a chance to build from an even playing field.

It’s a tough journey, but if you’re consistent and you produce good and sharable content you will be able to get there.
