The old cliche, “health is wealth” has been repeated since the beginning of time. Now, in 2022, it is as prevalent as ever.

With the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, the issue of health has become the main topic of discussion for mainstream media outlets all around the world. Today, people are more concerned about their health than ever before.

There are also more companies selling health-related products than ever before. Nowadays, it seems like you see advertisements for health supplements, workout gear, and vegan food, everywhere you go.

With how oversaturated the health and wellness space is, it has become difficult for consumers to find quality products. At the end of the day, you want to use products that actually work. Yet, it can be hard to differentiate products that are actually useful, from ones that are just flashy marketing gimmicks.

In addition to using the right products, it’s also important to maintain a balanced diet and a consistent workout routine. There are many different ways to define health; but if you’re eating and exercising right, you’ll give yourself the best chances of avoiding health issues.

It might sound overwhelming hearing about all the things you have to do to stay healthy. However, you can make serious strides in your health with just a few, easy steps. Keep reading below to find out what it takes to be healthy in 2022!

Track Your Body

If you’re serious about improving your health, you’re going to need to be able to track your progress. One way to make sure that you’re on the right path is to invest in a wellness tracker that tests essential health metrics like nutrition, hydration, and stress levels.

Vessel Health offers one of the best in-home wellness trackers on the entire market, testing all of the metrics listed, as well as what supplements your body is most responsive to.

For instance, if you’re low on vitamin B, this wellness tracker will tell you that and give you a list of supplements you can use. It will also give you recommendations on how to address certain deficiencies.

Using this data, you can best decide what products to invest in. The best part about this product is that it can be used at home. All you have to do is test a urine sample, then scan it with your phone. The results are produced within minutes.

With other methods of tracking, you’d have to wait one to two weeks to get your results back. You’d also have to drive to the doctor, sit around in a waiting room, and be pricked with a needle. Also, it’s way more expensive.

This wellness tracker has been backed by a myriad of notable scientists, nutritionists, and scientists. This product has also been cosigned by major publications like Forbes, GQ, and Vice.

Exercise Consistently

To improve your health, you need to exercise consistently. In a perfect world, you should engage in some kind of physical activity three to five times a week.

Even with the right supplements and diet, without exercise, your health will be lacking. Exercise helps control weight, combats heart disease, promotes sleep, boosts energy, and more.

If you don’t enjoy running or lifting weights, there are many other ways to stay active. Do you have a favorite sport that you used to play? Do you like yoga? Maybe you can increase the amount of time that you walk your dog every day.

Whatever you do, try to pick an activity that you genuinely enjoy. If you force yourself to participate in an activity you don’t like, you’re far more likely to quit.

Also try getting some friends to join you on your fitness journey. It is way easier to stay motivated and disciplined when you have someone to hold you accountable. Exercising can be an extremely isolating activity when done alone.

Make sure to stay comfortable while you exercise as well. It’s important to use the proper gear when you’re exercising, to avoid injury or strain. Having the right gear also helps boost your performance.

With that said, get yourself some workout shirts. Buy a gym membership. It’s time to take control of your health. It may seem intimidating, but once you get started, you’ll be thanking yourself!

Be Healthy in 2022

You Are What You Eat!

In addition to exercising, you also need to eat right. Don’t worry. This doesn’t mean you have to completely change up your diet and only eat salads from now on. What really matters is that you’re eating a balanced diet.

Take a look at the food pyramid (or more recently, the food plate!). You should have a healthy balance of vegetables, fruits, grains, and proteins in your diet, with the biggest portions going to vegetables and grains.

You should also have a small amount of dairy and fats and oils in your diet. Contrary to popular belief, your body actually needs these foods to stay healthy.

A lot of people choose to completely eliminate dairy and fats and oils from their diet. However, this is counterproductive.

Ultimately, you shouldn’t adhere to such a stringent diet. Similar to exercise, when you force yourself to eat foods you don’t like, you’re more likely to give up on your diet. For this reason, it’s important to include foods in your diet that you actually like eating.

It also helps to take vitamins and supplements every day. A daily multivitamin can help you maintain levels of certain nutrients in your body. You can also purchase vitamins that target specific nutrients.

One supplement that anybody can benefit from is fish oil. Fish oil benefits include heart health support, immune system support, and metabolic health promotion. If you suffer from heart disease, high blood pressure, obesity, or chronic inflammation, fish oil can help relieve some of your symptoms.

Practice Self-Care

Last but not least, you should always practice self-care. Unfortunately, mental health is often overlooked as part of our overall health. Yet, it is arguably just as important as your physical health, if not more important.

If you aren’t feeling good, then your productivity will be severely limited. You also won’t be able to enjoy things like you normally do. Strong, physical health is what allows us to live. Yet, strong mental health is what allows us to enjoy life.

For these reasons, it is necessary to pamper yourself sometimes. Go take a walk around the block. Take a fat nap. Play with your dog. Do things that you enjoy and help relieve your stress.

It can be very difficult to escape the pressures that each day impart on you. Find what helps you relax and try to engage in that activity every night. Even if it’s just for a half hour each night, try to give yourself some time to unwind.

Everybody looks at self-care differently. For some, self-care may just be playing video games for a few hours. For others, it may be reading a book or watching their favorite TV show. When in doubt, lean in toward the things that comfort you.
