Rising R&B singer Gemaine and producer Charlie Heat are teaming up to release a new joint album. The Gemaine and Charlie Heat joint album is an 11 song project that pays tribute to 90s R&B sound and feel. The duo also teamed up with songwriter Ymtk to co-write the project.
The album is titled New Jack City and it is set to be released on Friday April 15th.
In a recent interview with Parle Mag, Gemaine explained that the New Jack City album was, “Inspired by the pace and swagger of gangster films, like the gritty 1991 thriller New Jack City. Me and the squad developed a spacious musical signature that lends cinematic flair to even the most effervescent jams, and cements an artistic brotherhood.”
The duo have already released the singles, “No Questions,” “Lay It Down,” and “Conditional Love,” with each song seemingly reaching a new level of artistry and greatness.
They are also promising a new single/visual to be released on Friday, the same day as the album as well. The fourth single will be “Giddy Up”.
