Metro boomin has come out to tweet in defense of rappers Young Thug and Gunna following their controversial arrest few days ago.
Apparently, the St Louis born producer isn’t feeling the turn of events and he wants to be vocal about it. Metro Boomin expressed his grievances with the arrest and charges being pressed against Young Thug and Gunna on Twitter and chastised those who aren’t supporting them.
In a string of tweets, he said they need ‘love, support , and prayers right now not jokes, criticism, or opinions’. This comes after social media erupted with debates regarding their forthcoming trial.
Metro Boomin, who has worked with both the rappers in the past defended YSL against the gang-affiliated accusations saying ‘YSL is not a gang fool, YSL is a registered LLC and has provided countless jobs and opportunities for underprivileged black people and really just all people cause that’s how big Thug heart is’.
Young Metro spoke against the use of rappers lyrics against them in court. ‘Using song lyrics to indict niggas is lame af and a joke. These are the same lyrics that have made billions for these corporations over the past decade. I’m waiting now to see who gon step up and use those same resources now that the coin has turned’. He drew similarities with Tupac’s experience when he tweeted ‘Or y’all just gon turn the other way and leave niggas how Interscope did Pac in 9??’
The ‘Space Cadet’ producer seems to believe the charges against Young Thug and Gunna are racially motivated. He tweeted ‘They get terrified every time an iconic black leader emerges with so much influence, respect, power, and appeal so they throw some bullshit charges together to lock him up and slow the movement down.
He made sure to call out those defending the arrest by saying ‘ All you bitch ass niggas tryna play devils advocate behind a keyboard keep yo police ass on that side y’all niggas worse than the DA’
Although some users didn’t agree with his message, Metro Boomin ended the night by tweeting pictures he took with Gunna and Young Thug.
