Watch out, Hoochie Mamas; the Hoochie Daddies have dominated the summertime! And it hasn’t even started yet. A new social media phenomenon called Hoochie Daddy Shorts has our timelines doing the most, literally.

Gone are the days of the gray sweatpants season. Men are bringing out their Dexter Dukes, and the women are absolutely here for it… well, some.

If you grew up in the 1990s or early 2000s, then you’d know that the term “hoochie” was derogatorily used to describe a young woman who engaged in promiscuous acts and/or dressed provocatively.

However, in modern-day, the word’s usage is a lot more common and (seemingly) less offensive. We could possibly say that 2 Live Crew’s classic, “Hoochie Mama,” had a lot to do with that, which, to this day, still makes its rounds amongst the club crowds and backyard barbecues.

Butttt… the fellas are proving that they’re not only hoochies on the weekends; they’re hoochies every single day of the week. At least… until the summer is over.

While a good majority of the millennial population are treating this as the latest hot commodity, others are debating that the Hoochie Daddy Shorts have actually been a thing since the 1970s but are now coming back in style.

Could they be here to stay?

Check out some of the “Daddies” showing off their legs, hips, and BAWDY in the Twitter skreets!

Of course, a lot of the ladies were liiiiving for the photos, but there were some (male and female bystanders) who disapproved and deemed the fashion craze as a little too “feminine.”

The shorts aren’t only a thriving clothing statement for the gays; the straights have joined the show as well. Because of this, a few of our sistas are highly disliking the… sassiness, as they’ve been putting it.

Additionally, the LGBTQ community gave their take on it all, too.

Here are the reactions to the Hoochie Daddy Shorts trend…
