Since announcing their breakup in February 2021, Ye, the dad of Kim‘s four children, has customarily turned their domestic dilemmas into public rhetoric via social media. Kim K, meanwhile, claims she’s been trying to shield her kids from all the negativity — but broke down into tears in a recent interview.

On the Angie Martinez IRL podcast, recently Kim Kardashian disclosed how she ‘pretends to be OK’ so that Ye can maintain a relationship with their children (Psalm, Saint, Chicago, and North). “I could be going through something, but if we’re riding to school and they want to listen to their dad’s music, no matter what we’re going through, no matter what is happening in the world, I have to have that smile on my face and blast his music and sing along with my kids and act like nothing’s wrong,” Kim told Martinez. “As soon as I drop them off, I can have a good cry.”

While speaking, Kim Kardashian recaptured memories of Robert Kardashian (her late father) stating she had “the best dad” despite divorcing from her mom (Kris Jenner), and that all she desires for her children are wholesome memories of their own father. “It’s hard, sh*t,” Kim said about co-parenting with Ye. “Co-parenting is really f**king hard.” The KUWTK star noted that she systematically communicates with the teachers at her kids’ schools and knows that their class fellows aren’t chattering gossip with the West tykes.

Kim advocated: “None of the kids have ever said anything to my kids.” The SKIMS founder also clarified that she stringently monitors what media her kids are consuming, controlling what’s displayed on TV in her home and their Internet access. North West has a TikTok account on her mom’s cell phone, and is the only West child with a presence on social media.
