If you like standup comedy, well, prepare your Huggies because two legendary comics are coming together to make you soil yourself guaranteed! Chris Rock and Dave Chappelle are headlining a comedy tour set to commence in Oklahoma City later this month. The two icons presently have five dates scheduled through late January in metropolitans across South Carolina, Tennessee, Alabama, Missouri, and Oklahoma. Tickets go on sale Friday (Jan 6) at 10 a.m. via ticketmaster.com. Oklahoma City’s Paycom Center will host the first show.

The pair headlined a joint comedy tour beforehand in December 2022, where they made audiences bust their guts in San Francisco, Phoenix, and San Diego. They toured also in September in the United Kingdom. Dave Chappelle and Chris Rock rose to stardom in past decades for their sketches and farcical routines jocularly exposing, mocking, and deciphering racial denomination, cultural matters, and political lip service, constructing on the groundwork of predecessors such as Redd Foxx and Richard Pryor.

The event at Paycom Center on Jan. 20 is a “phone-free experience, where the use of mobile phones, smart watches and other accessories will be prohibited in the performance space,” accordant to the venue’s website. Once guests get to the show, all accessories and cellular devices are to be fastened in singular Yondr pouches that they’ll be permitted to hold on to while in the venue and then open back up once the show ends. At the venue, there’s selected Phone Use Areas guests can only use their devices in, and before returning to the show they must re-secure the devices in the pouches.

The notice reads: “Anyone seen using a device (phone, smart watch or accessories) during the performance will be escorted out of the venue by security. We appreciate your cooperation in creating a phone-free experience.” As a result of Chris Rock being unjustly smacked at the Academy Awards in 2022 by Will Smith, and Dave Chappelle going on SNL to poke fun at antisemitism in the same year, it’s expected the comedy tour will sell out every venue.
