50 Cent producing Vice City, the TV show? Here are the facts…

Vice City is the title of the latest TV series that Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson is creating for Paramount+. However, it is unclear how closely this project is connected to the video game phenomenon, ‘Grand Theft Auto.’

Both an actor and a producer, Jackson has achieved great success in the TV industry, but this would be his most ambitious endeavor to date. Working with acclaimed authors, producers, and directors from well-known action series may be a clue of the path this show may go in.

Thursday saw the announcement of Vice City. According to reports, the show centers on three buddies who are Army veterans who, in the middle of the 1980s, returned to Miami, Florida after being dishonorably discharged from the U.S. military due to their role in the Iran Contra controversy.

The three vets join forces with a strange Colombian immigrant to form a robbery squad despite having no prospects and little credibility. They all embarked on a perverse route toward the American Dream thanks to their combined skills, drive, and desperation.

Jackson’s G-Unit Film & Television, Lionsgate Television, and Paramount Television studios would all work together to develop the program. Jackson’s role isn’t quite clear–although it appears that he would be included as a co-creator.

Vice City is seemingly still in development, so fans might not get to see it for themselves anytime soon. Those who thought the show was related to the Grand Theft Auto series should temper their expectations. Following the feedback on social media, the “working title” may change throughout the development process.
