Why Did Kanye West Deactivate His Instagram Again?

Kanye West has officially walked away from Instagram… once more, but many are wondering what caused him to deactivate it.

The Chicago native released a screenshot on Tuesday demonstrating that he had completed Instagram’s account deactivation form.

He abruptly pulled the plug, which appears to have been a strange warning to supporters. Fans currently encounter the following notice when they visit the URL for his account: “Sorry, this page isn’t available.”

Since Instagram has been his primary channel for connecting with the outside world, Ye’s most recent move surprises the few supporters he still has.

The Grammy award-winning musician has been out of the spotlight since his public anti-Semitic rants cost him a number of high-profile business relationships and even a couple of friends.

Why Did Kanye West Deactivate His Instagram Again?

In recent years, West’s relationship with Instagram has had highs and lows.

He was temporarily banned from Instagram in March 2022 after several of his postings were found to have broken the social media platform’s laws against hate speech, bullying, and harassment. The fashion mogul repeatedly used racial obscenities beneath a screenshot of Daily Show anchor Trevor Noah’s Google profile prior to the ban.

Moreover, West published a ton of messages specifically aimed at Pete Davidson, who was at the time dating West’s ex-wife Kim Kardashian. He claimed that the comedian from Saturday Night Live, whom he calls “Skete,” “will get my kids mom hooked on drugs. He attends rehab every two months.”

Ye returned in March 2023 to say that he “likes Jewish people again” after seeing Jonah Hill’s performance in “21 Jump Street” after being suspended once more in October 2022 for a series of anti-Semitic comments.
