Redman replaced in Power Book II: Ghost?! The most recent episode of the hit Starz series revealed that the rapper’s character has been swapped out by another actor. What happened?

Power Book II: Ghost‘s third season is currently in progress, and criminal defense attorney Davis MacLean (Clifford “Method Man” Smith) is smack dab in the middle of it all. He has to deal with his brother Theo Rollins’ personal issues in addition to the pressure from Monet Tejada (Mary J. Blige) and Tariq St. Patrick (Michael Rainey Jr.).

Brick City’s finest Reggie “Redman” Noble joined Method Man, his friend and rap partner, on Power Book II: Ghost last season, much to the delight of the show’s fans. Redman portrayed Theo Rollins, Davis’ older brother, in the show.

However, when Theo made a surprise comeback in season three, a different actor played him. Davis’ older brother has been replaced by Jordan Mahome. The Get Down trouper (seemingly) fits the bill and then some. Fans, though, were taken aback.

One Twitter user posted, “They did #PowerBook2 recast the Theo Rollins characters… What happened to #Redman.”

Another user chimed in, “Come on #Power y’all really thought y’all could switch out Redman character and we wouldn’t notice as black viewers.” While a third fan tweeted heartache, “I missed Redman on Power: Book 2!!! Hope Redman returns. #WhereisRedman #Power #Redman #50Cent #Starz #PowerBook2 #PowerUniverse.”

Redman’s absence has not been addressed by executive producer Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson or showrunner Brett Mahoney, who replaced Courtney Kemp as showrunner. Yet it’s likely that this was due to scheduling issues.

Nonetheless, interest in Theo and Davis’ relationship is high, especially since Saxe (Shane Johnson) is now aware of his business partner’s link to Theo.
