Last night (September 21st), Lizzo accepted the Humanitarian Award presented by the Black Music Action Coalition (BMAC), in honor of the amazing charitable work that she has done over the years. Here are a few highlights of as Lizzo accepts Humanitarian Award.

In recent news, Lizzo has been under fire with a lawsuit including many of her former dancers coming out about their alleged harassment along with being in an unhealthy work environment. Lizzo has stepped back from the light in heat of everything that has been happening around her.

More recently another employee, Asha Daniels has sued her for condoning a hostile environment. Daniels also spoke out about the alleged hostile work environment.

Despite the allegations, and many dancers and former employees speaking on alleged experiences while working with Lizzo, many of her current dancers were present as Lizzo accepted her award. Some of the dancers even came on stage with her as she accepted the Humanitarian Award.

In her speech, she mentioned how much she needed this and the joy that it brings to be able to hold it in her hands. While crying before walking on stage, Lizzo shed tears of the amount of people that still admire her and love her dearly. She continued to state that she is going to continue being who she no matter who is watching. She’s going to continue doing what she know is good work.

We are happy to see that Lizzo is still being honored for being the person that has given women the confidence, drive and courage to be themselves unapologetically. She deserved it and are excited to see what else she may have in store and where she will go now.
