Legendary comedian Chris Rock has made a name for himself with his sharp wit and fearless humor and has accumulated significant wealth throughout his career. From his early days in stand-up comedy to his ventures in television, film, and even voice acting, Rock’s diverse portfolio has contributed to his impressive net worth. Let’s explore the entertainer’s rise to stardom, which left him with a large fortune.

According to Celebrity Net Worth, Chris Rock’s net worth is estimated to be around $60 million. This figure reflects his decades-long career in Hollywood, marked by numerous successful projects in stand-up comedy, television, and film.

Rock’s journey to financial success began in the stand-up comedy circuit during the 1980s. His big break came in 1990 when he joined the cast of Saturday Night Live. During his three-year stint on SNL, Rock became a household name, and his work on the show significantly boosted Chris Rock’s net worth and opened doors to new opportunities in the entertainment industry.

Rock’s stand-up specials have also been a major source of income. His 1996 HBO special Bring the Pain earned him two Emmy Awards and solidified his status as one of the top comedians in the world. The success of Bring the Pain led to more lucrative deals for subsequent specials, including Bigger & Blacker and Never Scared. In 2016, Rock signed a deal with Netflix reportedly worth $40 million for two stand-up specials, per Variety. The first of these, Tamborine, premiered in 2018, and Selective Outrage dropped in 2023.

Chris Rock was previously married to Malaak Compton-Rock.

As his net worth grew, Chris Rock met and married Malaak Compton-Rock. The pair tied the knot in 1996 and welcomed two children during their time together, according to People. In 2014, after 18 years of marriage, Chris announced that he and Malaak were divorcing. The divorce, finalized in August 2016, was highly publicized and reportedly involved complex financial and custody negotiations.

Documents from their divorce proceedings also revealed that the couple shared custody of a third child, Ntombi, whom they adopted at a young age. Chris and Malaak are also parents to Lola Simone Rock and Zahra Savannah Rock. Both Chris and Malaak have since moved on, focusing on their respective careers and co-parenting their daughters. Lola was born on June 28, 2002. Despite being the daughter of a famous comedian, she has maintained a relatively low profile, focusing on her education. In 2004, the couple welcomed Zahra. Zahra appears to share a close bond with her family and is often seen accompanying her mother and sister at various public events and charity functions.

However, Chris has revealed that he was unfaithful to his wife during their time together, despite her commitment to their marriage. “It was my fault; I was a piece of s**t,” he told Rolling Stone, adding, “Your significant other, if they really love you, has a high opinion of you. And you let them down.”
