Rapper and 1/3 of the legendary Hip-Hop ground Pras Michel, 51 is fighting for his life in the courtroom, but between the battle, he was able to enjoy what might be one final run with the group he helped create.  But with the most recent canceled Fugee reunion tour, the rapper might have had enough of his group member’s antics.  Pras blames Lauryn Hill for the canceled Fugee tour, turning up his nose at the claims that she has made that the media has created a narrative that she is always late and she is constantly canceling shows.

Let’s step back a minute and give you the full overview.

Lauryn Hill and The Fugees U.S. Tour Canceled, Again

A week ago, just three days before the Lauryn Hill and The Fugees tour–which was a make-up for the previously canceled dates with added shows–the tour was removed from Ticketmaster and people got notifications that the tour was canceled.  The tour was supposed to kick off on August 9th in Tampa, Fl.

The following day Lauryn took to social media with a statement regarding the canceled tour.  She clarified that last year’s dates were canceled/rescheduled because of “injury,” and that “sensationalism and clickbait headlines have seemingly created a narrative that has affected ticket sales…” As such, the North American tour dates had been canceled.  See the full statement below.

Pras Pushes Back

Since the statement’s release, Pras spoke with TMZ Hip-Hop, basically siding with the fans and saying that Hill’s reputation was the cause for the cancelation… and the narrative.

Pras has since released a diss track titled, “Bar Mitzfa,” where he doubles down on his stance and further takes shots at Lauryn.

He raps, “No one will remember: click bait beefs, how many Gucci bags you owned, bogus excuses. People will remember: How you made them feel, if you kept your word, if they could count on you, if you come on Time!!!”

The track was released exclusively on TMZ.  Pras also used to song to discuss his legal issues.

Pras Fraud Conviction

In 2023 Pras was convicted in federal court on 10 counts related to charges that include conspiracy, witness tampering and failing to register as an agent of China.

Pras has since requested a retrial, citing his lawyers use of AI in the trial proceedings.  One of his former lawyers also pled guilty for leaking evidence, ultimately receiving probation and a fine.

Pras faces 20 years in prison, but he has yet to be sentenced.  One would have to assume that the federal conviction would likely bar him from going on tour in Europe, but it remains to be seen if a judge allows him to travel.  Of course, they would have to actually sell tickets for the remaining tour dates for the Fugees reunion tour to happen.  Another beef between group members would not bode well for this happening.

The Fugees were estranged for over a decade because of disagreements between members, including a public feud between Lauryn Hill and Wyclef Jean, due in part to their past intimate relationship. The relationship with Clef helped inspire her much heralded The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill album, but it was on the highs and lows of her dating history.

We discussed the the Pras statements on Lauryn Hill on the Hustlers Anonymous Podcast.  Here’s a snippet of the discussion:
