James made her debut in 2005 with her album A Change Gonna Come. Since then the singer has been providing R&B jams for the listening pleasure. She’s collaborated with some of the biggest names in music and has been nominated for a Soul Train Music Awards and a NAACP Image Award, still she is one of the unsung artists of this generation. She even appeared on R&B Divas, a move to appeal to a larger audience but the results were not quite what she had in mind.
The new album finds Leela James going through the ups and downs of a relationship… well mostly downs. It sounds like one long personal story, but we’re not sure what actually inspired the music here. Over 11 tracks and an interlude Leela James spills her heart for better or worse and tells it like it is.
