Tyler, The Creator Back With Two New Singles, “Who Dat Boy”, “911/Mr.Lonely” & A Music Video w/ A$AP Rocky
Besides some guest features, here and there, Tyler, The Creator really hasn’t been heard from since 2015’s Cherry Bomb. His album schedule has been noted to be on a two-year cycle, so fans were quick to speculate when Tyler began posting a countdown on all his social media accounts. An album was expected, but two new singles and a music video to accompany one of them is what we got. This obviously means an album is on the horizon, however. Here’s what you need to know about the new Tyler, The Creator Singles, “Who Dat Boy” and “911/Mr.Lonely”.
“Who Dat Boy” mashes the best of Tyler’s old works like Goblin, with the more noise influenced Cherry Bomb. The result is an aggressive and heavy bass banger that even features a guest verse from A$AP Rocky. The visual is typical oddball Tyler music video, with him blowing half his face off and then enlisting the help of Rocky to patch him up, resulting in him stapling the face of a white man onto Tyler. And, just as in previous music videos, Tyler always like to leave a teaser for another track at the end, which is “911/Mr. Lonely”. The track was then later released on iTunes, alongside “Who Dat Boy”.
Hopefully, more news on the album will be making its way out shortly. It would be nice to hear a new full album from Tyler. Cherry Bomb received a plethora of great reviews from critics, so we’re sure that Tyler is going to come back with even more heat, this time around.
