This August, La La Anthony is producing and narrating a documentary on BET titled Killer Curves: Bodies to Die For. The documentary will bring awareness for women of color who try to do too much in their pursuit of having a perfect body. The documentary highlights the world of black market cosmetic surgery, booty shots and much more.
Killer Curves will feature celebrities who’ve been through the body image issue many times. For example, Singer K. Michelle talks in the documentary about how she dealt with the body image issue and how she dealt with pain after having butt injections.
K. Michelle says in the documentary:
“After I shots in my butt I felt I had confidence, but then I had headaches all the time and I even couldn’t walk.”
K. Michelle, whose first name is Kimberly, has since removed her butt implants. She now uses her platform in the best way possible to advise other women by telling them, ‘Honey, this ain’t what you want!”
Make sure to catch the premier Wednesday August 8th, 2018 9:00 ET on the BET network to learn about the experience of women going through body image issues, there’s also a preview that you can watch below.
Killer Curves: Bodies to Die For is the latest feature of the BET Truth Series. Launched in July 2015, BET’s “Truth Series” features original documentary films, directed by award-winning filmmakers that showcase stories about the African-American experience.
