Kevin Hart Set to Star in Upcoming Comedy Co-Parenting Produced by Will Packer and Chris Rock
Chris Rock is hopping in the director’s chair again. The honed actor-comedian is in place to spearhead a new Will Packer-produced comedy, titled Co-Parenting, for Universal Pictures, Deadline informs.
Penned by Black-ish writer Yamara Taylor, the Co-Parenting film, starring Kevin Hart, will focus on a stay-at-home dad whose day-to-day consists of caring for the kids while his wife is out being the breadwinner, leading a busy life as a prominent CEO. Along the way, the love gets lost, married life turns messy, and family falls apart, which leaves the husband under emotional distress. Ultimately, it ends in a bitter divorce, and the two become opponents of a chaotic custody battle.
The film’s concept was originally created by Chris Rock and Kevin Hart. Serving on the producing roster will be Packer himself, with James Lopez, through Will Packer Productions (Girls Trip), Hart and partner John Cheng over at Hartbeat Productions, and Rock for Chris Rock Enterprises.
Additional details on other cast members for the project have yet to be released.
Chris Rock made his directorial debut in 2014, with romance-comedy flick Top Five, which he also wrote and starred in alongside Kevin Hart, Gabrielle Union, Sherri Shepherd, and Rosario Dawson.
