Director John Singleton’s Family Says They’ll Be Pulling the Plug Today
John Singleton is still with us, but sadly, he won’t be for much longer.
After suffering a massive stroke, the Baby Boy director is reportedly on life support at Los Angeles’ Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where he remains in a medically-induced coma, TMZ informs.
According to his publicist, Singleton has not passed away yet, but he’s unresponsive, and as of now, his current state of health doesn’t seem to be making any progress.
The family recently announced that they’d be pulling the plug sometime today.
“It is with heavy hearts we announce that our beloved son, father, and friend, John Daniel Singleton will be taken off life support today,” the statement read. “This was an agonizing decision, one that our family made, over a number of days, with the careful counsel of John’s doctors.”
However, amid the 51-year-old’s fight for his life, there’s also been a legal battle between his loved ones and his estate. The filmmaker’s mother, Shelia Ward, and his daughter are said to be involved in a game of tug-of-war, due to Ward aiming to become the temporary conservator over Singleton’s business affairs.
Whereas Ward feels entitled to do so, his children aren’t going for it.
We’re hoping that all ends well, and we will continue to keep the Singleton family lifted in prayer!
