Just Who Is Sabrina Dhowre???
Sometimes people imagine there love lives are like some cinematic thriller, that will always end well. Falling in love, in the perfect way, with the perfect person, the loveliest day in the world (Valentine’s day) and the person is wildly attractive? Sounds like an unreal win, every time. Unless of course, you are Idris Elba’s wife, Sabrina Dhowre. But, who is Sabrina Dhowre outside of the person who just ruined a lot of single women’s dreams?
Sabrina Dhowre is a model and a Somali, Africa, descendant raised in Canada. Sabrina and Idris met while Elba was filming The Mountain Between Us, which is ironic, in a harrowing trial for love type of way.
Although it has been some time since her ‘stage wave days’, in 2014 at the age of 25 Sabrina was crowned Miss Vancouver (Canada). That timing would suffice to say that she is in fact, several years younger than Idris. In fact, Sabrina Dhowre is 30 years old, 16 years younger than Idris.
The former pageant beauty has been with Idris for the better part of a year; however, they were not publicly seen until the Toronto International Film Festival in late 2017.
Idris’s love life and other personal affairs tend to be something he keeps for himself, which did make the engagement to Miss Dhowre a little bit of a traumatic shock to some. The adorable part of this relationship whirlwind was the movement into the public eye. Elba told People that he thought, “…it would be an interesting space” for her. Additionally, it is very nice to see him being considerate of his future mate and their ability to thrive in the life and business he has become so accustomed to. The actor continued to embrace his now public-ish relationship when he proposed earlier this month at the London screening of Yardie.
Even though Idris lives a somewhat public life, Sabrina seems to compliment that movement. She has an Instagram account supported by 198k followers at the moment, with a few of her memorable moments, she seems to prefer keeping the details of her life to herself. And for high octane relationships in the world of Hollywood, that can definitively be a good thing.

Hopefully the pair make it to their “I dos” and have a long happy, and beautiful life. Even though I was hoping it would be me, I am very happy that it is her.

The couple exchanged vows on April 26 at the Ksar Char Bagh hotel in Marrakesh. Dhowre wore two custom dresses by Vera Wang; while Elba wore a bespoke suit by Ozwald Boateng.
