From the mind of writer, director and producer Tyler Perry is a new series on BET, Sistas. The show is about single Black women, all from different walks of life who share a common thread. Just what do they all have in common? The fact that each of them are trying to grasp why they are single. Given each of their collective status’, they attempt to balance careers and friendships through everyday life challenges, unrealistic relationship goals and lets not forget, social media. Tyler Perry’s Sistas on BET premiered on Wednesday October 23rd along with his other new show, ‘The Oval‘.
Meet the Cast of Tyler Perry’s Sistas on BET:
KJ Smith (‘Queen Sugar‘, ‘Black-ish‘, ‘The Fix‘) stars as Andrea “Andi” Barnes, a divorce lawyer who for all intents and purposes is the one member of the group who is driven, reliable and has it together.
Ebony Obsidian (If Beale Street Could Talk, Where Hearts Lie) plays Karen Mott who owns an up and coming hair salon and is very head strong and dependent.
Mignon Von (42 Seconds) stars as Daniella “Danni” King who marches to the beat of her own drum. She is the ride or die member of the group who remains unbiased.

Rounding out the talented cast are Chido Nwokocha, DeVale Ellis, Brian Jordan Jr., Kevin Walton, Anthony Dalton and Trinity Whiteside.
Serving as co-producers of Sistas on BET alongside Perry as is the case with The Oval are Michelle Sneed and Mark E. Swinton.
At the end of the day, life is all about finding yourself and what it is that makes you happy. One of the stars of Sistas seemed to allude to that during a recent discussion with BET.
“Sistas is about four young melanated queens doing this thing in the world,” said Brown, who stars as Sabrina Hollins. “They’re professionals, they’re business owners, but they’re also women who are seeking happiness within themselves and having that inner sister circle.”
