Shakur Stevenson versus Oscar Valdez is coming to Las Vegas’ MGM Grand Gardens Arena on April 30th. Stevenson and Valdez are fighting to unify the World Boxing Organization (WBO) and World Boxing Council (WBC) super featherweight championship titles.

The match is set for 12 rounds. Top Rank Boxing is promoting this boxing event. Both fighters are putting their unbeaten records at risk.

Stevenson versus Valdez will be broadcasted on ESPN. The main card starts at 9 PM. The headliner will start at 11 PM.

Shakur Stevenson is a 24-year-old boxer out of Newark, New Jersey that won the silver medal in the 2016 Olympics. He is managed by hip-hop mogul J. Prince who helped the boxing careers of Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Andre Ward.

In October 2021, Stevenson stopped Jamel Herring in the tenth round for the WBO super featherweight title. The southpaw fighter has an undefeated record of 17 with 9 being knockouts. He is favored to win the fight against Oscar Valdez on April 30th.

The WBC champion Oscar Valdez is undefeated. He has a fight record of 30 fights with 23 of them being from knockouts. The Mexican fighter beat Robson Conceicao last September defending his WBC title.

Valdez is looking to extend his winning streak this weekend. This will be his ninth time having to defend a title in his professional career. Titles he defended include the WBO featherweight title and the North American Boxing Federation (NABF) junior super featherweight title.

This fight is expected to launch the winner into superstardom. It also gives the winner a chance to be part of the current pound-for-pound ranking.
