The new Kendrick Lamar “The Heart Part 5” single has social media in a total uproar!
Ahead of the May 13th release of his fifth studio album, Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers, our favorite lyrical genius delivered a compelling visual to the continuation of his “The Heart” series.

The five-minute video sees him standing in front of a bloody-red backdrop as he poetically cites his verses over a sample beat of Marvin Gaye’s “I Want You.”
Directed by Dave Free, alongside Lamar, the Compton-bred rapper creatively pays homage to fellow culture giants OJ Simpson, Will Smith, Jussie Smollett, Kobe Bryant, Kanye West, and Nipsey Hussle by morphing into them throughout the controversial clip.
“As I get a little older, I realize life is perspective,” Lamar says in the song’s intro, later leading into lyrics that match Simpson, Smith, Smollett, Bryant, West, and Hussle’s life stories. “And my perspective may differ from yours.”
