The unfortunate death of Migos rapper Takeoff has rocked us all, especially his family. Amid the tragic news of Takeoff’s death, fellow band mate and cousin Offset sophomore untitled solo album release date has been pushed back.Â
It is no secret to any of us that prior to the news of Takeoff’s untimely death, him and fellow band mate and cousin Offset were not on good terms. The group unfortunately disbanded much to the surprise of their fans earlier this year in June when the group cancelled a scheduled performance at this years’ Governor’s Ball and was replaced by Lil’ Wayne.
Since, the Migos members Quavo and Takeoff answered questions about the groups split in interviews as they were promoting their newly released album together entitled Only Built For Infinity Links. One in particular where Takeoff expresses that all things will happen in its due time, and that he believed in the power of God to handle whatever needed to be handled as far as he was concerned.
After the split was made public, and the news that Offset was suing his record label Quality Control Records, he began to prompt the release of a sophomore forthcoming album. Offset announced the release date of his untitled sophomore album on Twitter on Wednesday September 21, 2022. Two tweets from the rapper revealed the exciting news, including “11/11/22” and the word “Album.”

The rapper’s second studio album comes three years after his debut album, Father of 4. The 16-track LP, produced solely by Metro Boomin and Southside, offered a more personal view of the former Migos member’s life as a husband, father, and music artist. The album featured collaborations from fellow Atlanta rappers Gunna, 21 Savage, as well as Travis Scott, J. Cole, and Offset’s wife, Cardi B.
Offset has released the singles “54321” and “CODE feat. MoneyBagg Yo” from the untitled album 2 months ago.
On October 29, 2022, Offset posted a photo of himself in a very nice suit with the caption “11/11 I’m dropping some dope”. Tragically, two days later, Takeoff was killed at a bowling alley in Houston TX.

Once the news of Takeoff’s untimely passing spread, many looked to see if there would be any word from Offset, but he nor Quavo have yet to make a public statement. He has honored his cousin through social media by changing his avatars on both Instagram and Twitter to photos that include himself, Quavo, and Takeoff.
Offset was scheduled to perform at the MGMÂ Music Hall in Boston on November 04, 2022, but the show was cancelled for obvious reasons. There is no word as to when the album will be released. RIP Takeoff, you will be missed!
