Global superstar rapper Flo Rida just won mega millions — and he did so without even purchasing a lottery ticket. On Wednesday (Jan 18), a Florida jury awarded the “My House” singer more than $82 million in his lawsuit against Celsius fitness drinks, after the hip hop star claimed the active lifestyle company owed him stock options and cash via an endorsement deal. In closing arguments, Flo Rida’s team attorney said the rapper didn’t necessarily want a dollar amount but rather the “1% ownership of the company he was previously promised.”

Earlier this month, Flo Rida said in an interview that Celsius asked him to be their brand ambassador in 2014 and feels he helped put the brand on the map. The “Good Feeling” spitter stated: “Well this started back in 2014. I was asked to be the brand ambassador for Celsius. I mean, this was a young company out of the state of Florida, and myself, I thrive on health. Since being in ninth grade, all I did was love fitness knowing that health is really wealth. So I was in this thing for the long haul, and basically when it came down to getting compensated”

The Florida native went on: “It was a time during the pandemic where I got to sit down and really check out all my business endeavors, and this one in particular, I check it out and they were telling me that one of the products I was endorsing wasn’t selling and I got a chance to look at it and it was doing more than well. This product has done over tens and tens of millions of dollars since I joined the company.”

Flo Rida won the lawsuit after a jury found that Celsius breached the agreement they made with the “GDFR” rapper back in 2014, and deceptively buried information in relation to the breach. Over $27 million of the restitution reflects 250,000 shares in the beverage company Flo Rida claimed was owed to him. Celsius‘ attorneys had contended in paperwork that the statute of limitations for the “Who Dat Girl” singer to file a complaint had passed, and that their agreement with Flo Rida had terminated in 2018.
