According to Havoc, a new Mobb Deep album is now being put together and will contain previously unheard lyrics from their late bandmate Prodigy.
The groundbreaking producer said during a visit to the People’s Party podcast that the band will be releasing new music in the future.
While addressing his future endeavors, Havoc explained to host Talib Kweli, “I’m actively working on a Mobb Deep album now, as we speak.
“The family blessed me with a bunch of vocals [by Prodigy] and soon as I leave here, I’m goin’ back to work.”
The Queens native also said in the interview that he is now working on a collab album with Method Man of the Wu-Tang Clan as well as a joint project with Ras Kass and RJ PAYNE.
Mobb Deep New Album On The Way
After being admitted to the hospital while on the Art of Rap tour in Las Vegas, Prodigy passed away in June 2017. At the time, it was thought that the rapper had accidentally choked to death. Against the Spring Valley Medical Center and one of its doctors, Prodigy’s family filed a wrongful death case in 2018. Prodigy was born Albert Johnson.
The Gage Law Firm filed the case on behalf of the family, alleging that the Spring Valley hospital failed to “maintain a working IV access” and to “continuously monitor oxygen levels” as directed by medical professionals.
Throughout their career, Mobb Deep put out eight studio albums, including the Gold and Platinum-certified ‘The Infamous,’ ‘Hell On Earth,’ ‘Infamy,’ and ‘Murda Muzik.’
‘The Infamous Mobb Deep‘, the duo’s most recent album, was published in 2014, three years before Prodigy passed on.
